A House Is Not A Home - Luther Vandross

Luther has the crowd in the palm of his temporarily skinny hands. What a vocal performance. Dionne Warwick and Little Janet seem very impressed. Little did they know he was singing about his boyfriend. I think that makes it even more interesting. I wonder if they met on entre-nous.

Lyrically I think this song is fantastic, thank you Burt Bacharach. Technically I'm not a singer, but this song is hard to sing. I've tried, its hard. Singing one section is hard enough, but the transitions are impossible. Luther almost makes it look easy.

That's What Friends Are For

The crowd loves this. Stevie seems to kick start the performance and then Luther and Whitney battle it out. What a group of pipes. Award shows CAN be special.

Of note:

-This is one of several bad hairstyles Stevie wonder has had over the years. But, you know...

-Denzel is so handsome.

-Who is the creep next to young Janet Jackson?
